Once again, we are a bit behind schedule โ€“ please excuse us, we have been stunned by the King Cup match between Abha and Al Shabab, and are still trying to recover! Anyway, letโ€™s review the key moments of round 3 together!

(Please see the comments for the list of results.)

The meeting between the Champions of Asia and the Real Madrid of Asia was obviously the most-anticipated fixture of the weekend, and it surely didnโ€™t disappoint. Intensity, great individual performances, great goals, energy, fighting spirit are the first of a few words coming to our mind. What a match! If you missed it, you definitely MUST watch the highlights โ€“ and also donโ€™t forget to count how many times Al Hilal hit the woodwork!

Once again, we have to praise Al Nassr: Ronaldo and co secured another convincing victory, this time against local rivals Al Riyadh with a 5-1 scoreline. Braces from Ronaldo and Joao Fรฉlix and a goal from Coman โ€“ this trio certainly looks to dominate the league so far! And given the upcoming run of fixtures, we certainly wouldnโ€™t be surprised if Al Nassr would sit at the top of the league before the winter break.

While there were two goalless draws, we would still be in trouble with picking the most beautiful goal of the round. The second goals of Malcom (Al Hilal) and Joao Fรฉlix (Al Nassr), the first ever home goal of NEOM in the Saudi Pro League from Abdulmalek Al Oyayari (NEOM) are each a fair contender, and we still have the free kicks from Buckley (Al Kholood) and Retegui (Al Qadsiah) to judge. Thankfully, we are not obliged to pick one, so let us know: what do you think? ๐Ÿ™‚

Besides Al Nassr, Al Ittihad is the only team with maximum points following three rounds. Certainly, the reigning champions feel the absence of their star man, Karim Benzema. However, it seems that they still have enough depth to compete: this time Kantรฉ stepped up with a fine goal, securing the only away win in round 3. Deep in the stoppage time โ€“ when else? De ja vu anyone?

Al Qadsiah and Al Khaleej had a very entertaining match, which could have ended either way. The decisive factor happened to be a wonderful header in the stoppage time by Al Salem. Which means that โ€ฆ that โ€ฆ Al Qadsiah won, as you may recall, Al Salem, the former captain of Al Khaleej joined them in the summer. And, as you would expect from such a character, he refused to celebrate the winning goal. Great sportsmanship!
